Data Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

This Data Policy explains how long Truly Gourmet Sdn Bhd (“Truly Gourmet”, “we”, “us” or “our”) keeps personal data, and how you can access, correct or delete your data, including data received through social login.

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it and who we share it with. If there is any inconsistency between the two, the Privacy Policy applies.

1. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.

  • Order, invoice and payment records: generally at least seven years, to meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Customer accounts: for as long as your account remains active. If an account is inactive for an extended period, we may close it and delete or anonymise its data, subject to the records we must keep by law.
  • Newsletter and marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
  • Loyalty and rewards points: for as long as your account remains active.
  • Customer enquiries and complaints: for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the matter, and afterwards where needed for product quality, food safety or legal purposes.
  • Published reviews: for as long as the review remains published on the Site.
  • Website analytics data: in line with the retention settings of our analytics provider.

When data is no longer required, we delete it or anonymise it so that it can no longer identify you.

2. Accessing and Correcting Your Data

You can view and update most of your account details, including your name, contact details and addresses, by logging in to My Account on the Site.

For any other personal data we hold about you, you may request a copy or ask us to correct it by contacting us using the details below.

3. Deleting Your Account and Data

You may ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time by emailing us from the email address linked to your account.

When we delete your account:

  • your account profile, saved addresses and account login will be removed;
  • your loyalty and rewards points balance will be forfeited and cannot be restored;
  • you will be removed from our marketing lists; and
  • your published reviews will be removed or anonymised.

Some data cannot be deleted immediately. We will keep order, invoice and payment records for as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes, and we may keep limited information where necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes or respond to a product safety matter. This retained data will not be used for marketing.

4. Deleting Data Received Through Social Login

If you created an account or signed in using a social media or third-party account, we may have received basic profile information from that provider, such as your name, email address and profile picture.

To delete this data:

  1. Remove Truly Gourmet from your social account.
    • Facebook: go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, then remove Truly Gourmet.
    • Google: go to your Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps and services, then remove Truly Gourmet.
  2. Ask us to delete the data we hold. Email us from the address linked to your account and state that you would like your social login data deleted.

Removing access in step 1 stops the provider sharing further data with us. Step 2 deletes the data we have already received.

5. Unsubscribing From Marketing

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by contacting us.

After unsubscribing, you may still receive service messages about your orders or account.

6. How We Handle Your Request

To protect your data, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, for example by confirming details of your account or a recent order.

We will respond to your request within the time required under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Where permitted by law, we may charge a fee for providing a copy of your personal data.

If we are unable to fulfil all or part of a request, for example because we are legally required to keep certain records, we will explain why.
